The AC Hotel by Marriott will be constructed on a more than 2-acre site on Carpenter Freeway near Toyota Music Factory.

Las Colinas is getting a new 147-room hotel just west of the Irving Convention Center and Toyota Music Factory entertainment district.

The AC Hotel by Marriott boutique hotel will be constructed on a more than 2-acre site on John Carpenter Freeway, south of Hidden Ridge Drive. It will include a full-service restaurant, rooftop bar and more than 3,000 square feet of meeting space.

“Nearly all elements of a full-service brand are provided here,” Ron Stewart, regional vice president of development at Marriott International, told the Irving City Council, which approved the hotel. “With this project will be a rooftop experience fitting for an area right near the Toyota Music Factory.”

The AC Hotel will be built next door to an existing Holiday Inn property and near the Westin Irving Convention Center Hotel and the Music Factory entertainment, restaurant and retail complex.

The hotel is a project of Irving-based Whitestone Hospitality. The firm already has more than two dozen hotels in North Texas.

“This project is going to do wonders,” Whitestone president Dhaval Patel said. “It will only add more to the skyline and the convention center space we have. "

The hotel is also just blocks from where banking firm Wells Fargo has just broken ground on a huge office campus that will house almost 3,000 workers. The almost half-billion-dollar Wells Fargo campus will open in late 2025.

Dallas-Fort Worth is the country’s fastest growing hotel market, with more than 175 projects in the development pipeline.
