Founding Partner
As one of the founding partners of Type Six Design & Development Services, Hayes brings over 15 years of professional experience into every project. Having received both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Architecture from UTA, Hayes began his career working on large scale multi-family, assisted living, and memory care projects throughout the country. Additional experience was gained in commercial and hospitality project types before eventually establishing Type Six in 2015.
As one of the firm’s owners, Hayes is deeply committed to driving the continuous enhancement of both our products and services. His role goes beyond traditional management; he is a proactive leader dedicated to identifying and implementing innovations that elevate our offerings and meet the evolving needs of our clients. Hayes regularly engages with customers to gather feedback, stays abreast of industry trends, and fosters a culture of excellence within the team. His relentless pursuit of quality ensures that our firm not only maintains but also advances its competitive edge in the market. Through strategic planning, investment in cutting-edge technology, and a steadfast focus on customer satisfaction, Hayes strives to set new standards of performance and deliver exceptional value in every aspect of our business.

Hayes enjoys his downtime by retreating to his serene lakeside home his with two Yorkshire Terriers, Rupert and Fergie.
James C. Lusty
Founding Partner, Design/Business Development
James C. Lusty is the co-founding partner at Type Six Development Services, where he serves as Lead Business Development as well as Lead Designer. With more than 15 years of extensive experience in architecture, James guides clients through complex projects that include site research, strategy, master planning, and design. He believes in collaborating closely with his clients to lead projects from concept through completion, providing continuous oversight and leading his clients to high-quality and cost-effective design solutions. This commitment to the highest standards of service, integrity and innovative design are at the core of Type Six. Providing more than top-notch design, but also a personal, teamwork mentality, are the reasons hospitality brands such as Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, and IHG and multiple private restaurant groups nationally continue to partner with Type Six again and again.
Leadership and teamwork have been a part of James’ career from day one. During his 10 years of service including his role as Captain in the Army National Guard, he led a field artillery battery and fire support cell. He also served as Project Manager at JRK Design Inc., Linear! Architecture Incorporated and ArcVision Incorporated before founding Type Six Development Services in 2015.
James holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, and numerous veteran organizations. Grapevine, Texas is also where Lusty calls home with his wife of 15 years, Amanda, and their Hunter/Jumper horses.
Connor Walker
NCARB, LEED GA
Senior Project Architect
With a passion for innovative, sustainable architecture built upon strong construction fundamentals, Connor Walker brings more than 10 years of diversified industry experience to his role as Project Architect for Type Six Design Services. An AIA member and LEED AP certified, he provides a creative edge to every project while minimizing environmental impact through responsible material selection, energy efficiency, and innovative solutions. A problem solver with strong critical thinking strategies, Connor approaches challenges with a methodical and creative mindset, delivering effective and successful solutions.

Fueled by a love for design ignited in childhood, Walker earned his Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington and his Bachelor of Science in Interior Design (CIDA Accredited) from Harding University. His dedication to the power of community leadership and volunteerism showed in his active participation in organizations like the Harding University President’s Council, while also giving back to his community through his local Church ministries with his Wife and two children. Additionally, Connor Walker was selected as a member of the inaugural class for Metropolis Magazine's Arch30 program.

Connor believes that good design must be first functional and then aesthetically pleasing - reflecting the unique needs and personalities of his clients. However, he is always ready to share how to push the limits of being just a building and creating beautiful, smart architecture that fosters community interaction and enriches lives.
